Level One Production Operator
Reports To: 1ST, 2ND, OR 3RD Shift Supervisor
Dept. Name: Production
Basic Position Function:
Entry level production operator position, utilizing established documentation, tools, quality and production concepts in accordance with established safety procedures, to process and package finished and WIP product.
Education: (Required and Desired)
High school diploma or equivalent required. Additional education in a related field is desired.
Experience: (Required and Desired)
Temporary Production Operator requirements must be met or equivalent experience is required. Previous experience in plastic injection molding industry is desired.
Knowledge / Skills:
This position requires basic communications skills and basic mathematics skills; and the ability to utilize a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram or visual sample form, to process and package acceptable finished goods and WIP product. This position requires the employee to frequently sit, stand, walk, bend and occasionally lift or move up to fifty pounds. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus. To perform this position function successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Uses and follows written workmanship standards and / or visual standards, to process and package product that meets established guidelines.
Performs handling, packaging and labeling functions to complete finished goods and WIP product.
Use of scales
Evaluates product against existing standards, and records defective product as needed, on a Reject Parts Log.
Understands and utilizes all applicable subcomponents of the Production Packet, to complete finished goods and WIP product.
Uses applicable hand tools and air tools, to process and complete finished goods and WIP product.
Utilizes existing quality concepts, in conjunction with the injection machine operation, to process and complete finished goods and WIP product.
Each shift is responsible for end of shift clean up duties, which includes vacuuming presses, cleaning kitchen, organizing work cells, sweeping production floor and emptying all production, warehouse, bathroom and break room trash containers; disposing trash in the outside dumpsters and all cardboard in outside recycle dumpster.
Is aware of general equipment hazards and follows and utilizes all applicable safety features.
Understands the location and purpose of Safety Data Sheets.
Aware of the first aid supplies location.
Adheres to all safety procedures.
Maintains a clean and safe work environment. Keeps work area clean of debris.
Performs other duties as assigned.
